Gettin' better all the time......

Touchstone Television has added veteran John Wirth to its pool of TV writers in a two-year, seven-figure deal.

Wirth will be executive producer of "The Ghost Whisperer," which bows this fall starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, and will create, develop and produce other Touchstone projects.

Wirth is a veteran of TV programs such as "The District," "Nash Bridges," "Picket Fences" and "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr."

Wirth said writer friends helped convince him to join Touchstone. "A bunch of them have gone over there, and they all rave about what a filmmaker-friendly place it is," Wirth told Daily Variety. "I also really like their creative execs and the guy who runs production, Barry Jossen."

Wirth said he will focus on launching the spooky, emotionally resonant "Ghost Whisperer" before moving to new projects.
