LOS ANGELES, CA --- Fast National ratings for Friday, January 28, 2006 "Dancing with the Stars" delivered another big audience for ABC Friday, but not big enough to overcome CBS' deeper lineup. CBS won the night with a 7.8 rating/13 share in primetime, beating out ABC's 6.5/11. NBC finished third at 4.4/7. FOX, 3.0/5, edged out UPN, 2.9/5, for fourth, and The WB trailed with a 2.0/3. Among adults 18-49, CBS' 3.2 rating was good for the top spot. ABC came in second with a 2.7, followed by FOX's 2.1 and NBC's 2.0. UPN averaged 1.4 and The WB 1.3. |
The "Dancing with the Stars" results show -- and the elimination of rap star Master P -- gave ABC a 9.2/16, the night's biggest rating, at 8 p.m. CBS took second with "Ghost Whisperer," 7.5/13. UPN was a distant third with "Friday Night Smackdown!," 2.8/5, which narrowly beat an hour of "The Bernie Mac Show" on FOX. NBC sunk to fifth with a replay of the special "Jamie Foxx: Unpredictable." The WB averaged 1.6/3 with "What I Like About You" and "Living with Fran." CBS took over the lead at 9 p.m. with "Close to Home," 7.2/12. ABC's "In Justice" bled a sizable portion of its lead-in audience and finished second at 5.2/9. "Dateline NBC" was right behind at 5.1/9. FOX's "Trading Spouses" averaged 3.4/6, beating the second hour of "Smackdown!" and The WB's duo of "Reba" and "Twins." |
