TV Vetran director/producer at the helm for Love.....

Gil Junger (sometimes billed as "Gilbert Junger" and last name pronounced "younger") has come aboard to direct Intermedia Films/Outlaw Productions' romantic comedy "If Only," with Jennifer Love Hewitt attached to star and produce through her Love Spell Entertainment.  

The project aims to go into production in October in London. "If Only" centers on a young couple given a second chance to relive and change the events of a day when one of them dies. Christina Welsh wrote the original draft; Allison Burnett ("Autumn in New York") is rewriting the project for the London setting. Intermedia-based Outlaw Productions dipped into its discretionary fund in the fall to pick up the project with Love attached.

Gil got his start in television by working for his brother Paul Junger-Witt on "Soap" produced by Paul and his partner Tony Thomas (the son of actor/proucer/entertainer Danny Thomas) and Susan Harris (Mrs. Paul Junger-Witt and the creator of "Soap").

Gil Junger moved into television directoring and producing with episodes of "EMPTY NEST" starring Richard "Soap" Mulligan and Kristy McNichol for NBC Television (1988 to 1995). "Empty Nest" was created by Susan Harris who created "The Golden Girls" for which 'Nest' was a spin off. 'Girls' and 'Nest' was also produced by Witt/Thomas/Harris Productions in association with Touchstone Television/The Walt Disney Company.

Junger's directorial motion picture debut was "TEN THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU" (1999) starring Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles. Gil casted himself in a small uncredited part as a teacher.

Junger is an avid photographer, golfer, and musician, and is in a band called Mid-Life Crisis.
