In the 2008 Forbes Celebrity 100
Power List released by Forbes Magazine, talk show host Oprah
Winfrey was named as the most powerful celebrity again– second
straight year and for the fifth time ever.
The rankings give the most weight to
earnings over the past year but also factors in such things as
Internet presence, press clippings, magazine covers and mentions
on TV and radio.
#96 Jennifer Love Hewitt
The former
Party of Five
star found herself the subject of blogger criticism when shots
of what appeared a slightly plumper than usual Hewitt surfaced
online. She fired back on her personal blog, defending her size
2 body. The 29-year-old actress serves as both series lead and
executive producer on the
CBS
(nyse:
CBS)'s Ghost Whisperer,
which just wrapped its third season. She also lends her face and
clean-cut image as a spokeswoman to both underwear maker Hanes
and cosmetics giant Proactiv.
