by Neil Wilkes The UK's Channel 4 has bagged first-run UK rights to American drama Ghost Whisperer, starring Jennifer Love-Hewitt. Disney's ABC1 will air the show next year. The series will launch on C4's digital entertainment channel E4 this year then on ABC1, the entertainment channel launched by Disney in 2004, in January 2007. The deal was agreed by Jeff Ford, C4's director of acquisitions, and Catherine Powell, executive director of sales for UK and Ireland at Buena Vista International Television. Ghost Whisperer stars Love Hewitt (Party of Five, I Know What You Did Last Summer) as Melinda Gordon, a young woman who can talk to dead people. It also stars Aisha Tyler (24) and David Conrad (Wedding Crashers). In the US, Ghost Whisperer launched on CBS in September 2005, where it has been a number-one ranked show in its timeslot, and the show has also been successful for Australia's Network Seven. Ghost Whisperer is a Touchstone Television production, executive-produced by John Wirth (Bash Bridges), John Gray, Kim Moses and Ian Sander. James Van Praagh is co-exec producer.
