David Conrad has been tapped to co-star in CBS' untitled John Gray project, which focuses on a young newlywed (Jennifer Love Hewitt) who communicates with the dead. Conrad, who co-starred on NBC's "Miss Match" and had a recurring roles on Fox's "Boston Public," and The WB's "Roswell" will play the woman's husband, Jim. Born on August 17, 1967 in Pittsburgh, PA, Conrad worked at the Steel Valley Historical Society, interviewing steel workers and their families for an oral history project. In 1994 Conrad made feature film debut, a small role in "Under Heat" starring the gifted actress LEE GRANT ("In The Heat of The Night" 1966). In 1995 Conrad's first major film role, a supporting part, opposite Sigourney Weaver ("Heartbreakers") in "Snow White in the Black Forest". |
A graduate of the Juilliard in 1995, Conrad wanted to be a nemesis on "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" (the TV series). So he petitioned the producers of the series, but the producers pass on his request. Conrad still landed on television in the 1996-1997 TV series "Relativity" -- his debut on ABC from Executive Producer Edward Zwick ("thirtysomething"). In 1998 one of his loves is the theater. And in turing down roles in hit movies like Dreamworks' "Deep Impact" and New Line's "Boogie Nights" Conrad made his debut on Broadway opposite another gifted actress BLYTHE DANNER (Gwyneth's mom) in a revival of "The Deep Blue Sea". And also in 1998, Conrad co-starred with Vince Vaughn, Joaquin Phoenix and Anne Heche ("I Know What You Did Last Summer") in "Return to Paradise". Story: © 2005
